Tapwell was founded in 2025 by former bar workers and previous MGA (Managing Agent) specialists who got tired of insurers who couldn't tell a tied lease from a tenancy at will. We're a new brokerage with a very old point of view: pubs are worth insuring properly.
We are deliberately small. Every client has a named broker — a person, not a portal — and that broker stays with them through quotes, renewals, mid-term changes and, occasionally, the bad days.
We are independent and have direct access to the specialist hospitality underwriters at Lloyd's and the major UK composites. That means a market, not a script.
